2020 Book Predictions

Typically, I give myself this lofty goal of reading however many books I can in one year. Well, in recent years; between blogging, writing my own books, scrolling aimlessly through social media and having a toxic job, 2019 wasn’t the best year for finishing ANY book I started.

Trash, I know. But I will be better. Like, how can I be a writer and never read anything? S.M.H. (lol)

In 2020, I am not going to set a number goal; however, I do want to do a lot more reviews, I want to dive into some genres that I wouldn’t normally dive into, and I also want to finish my own projects before the year is out. I also want to do a lot more meaningful reading; meaning, I want to begin to learn a lesson, or something from whatever I read. Being that my job doesn’t require a ton of reading (but it is a lot of harsh reality), I want to be able to get into more knowledge-building and professional developmental reading to better myself. An escape from my very real and very harsh job wouldn’t hurt either. So, that is what I am going to start with.

Hopefully, with the quick and necessary re-evaluation of my life and re-allocation of my time to more meaningful and relevant things (which means no more aimless and pointless scrolling on social media smh), I will get a lot more reading time in, instead of wasting time doing nothing, then getting mad at myself for not doing anything about it.

A vicious cycle I live in; but, it’s time to break it. 🙂

What about you? Any cool reading goals you have for yourself in 2020? Let me know in the comments! 🙂
