Whitney, I bet the world would be stunned if you told them you didn’t think you’d make it […]

The older I get, the more I realize that keeping good people around me is one of the keys to a happy and successful life.  I’ve learned that if you don’t have a solid circle of friends who are not on your level and striving to get better, then you don’t really need them in your life.  Lately with all my recent accomplishments, I have really been appreciative of the people I have in my life and how much they support and encourage me to do better and be better.  I have come up with 3 major factors in this decision making process, and how I know that I don’t have any squares in my circle, lol:

A quick PSA that has been on my heart:

Sometimes, people need a small village of loved ones who they lean on for support, guidance and love.  It’s not a bad thing to want to have someone you can truly vent to; someone who doesn’t judge, doesn’t make assumptions or opinions; and someone who doesn’t minimize your feelings.

Ok, so THANK YOU Issa Rae for making a show that speaks to so many other aspects of my life!

I was able to finally watch Insecure yesterday (because trying to find access to someone’s HBOGO has been a bitch) on YouTube (once again, THANK YOU).  Word to the wise, if you watch it at work, put in some headphones because this show don’t play, lol.
