This Gallon Water Thing

So, I am going to see if I can drink a gallon of water a day…..

I noticed that my water intake truly sucks.  I mean, I drink a lot of water, but I still don’t think it’s enough.  I try to stay as hydrated as possible though, as a means to detox and prevent dehydration. I just don’t think I get in enough water.

I have seen so many other numbers, that represent how many ounces of water you should put in a day.  I figure the best way is for me to just drink a gallon or more a day and see what happens.  I am going to TRY (main word being try) to cut back to one can soda a day.  I am not going to sit here and say I will quit soda cold turkey, so I am going to go for a more reasonable goal; 1 can a day.  I drink juice (maybe 2 cups, if that) maybe every other day and it is usually the Simply Lemonade brand, because it is not from concentrate.  I am also adding a cup of tea in the morning (Yogi caramel apple spice slim life).

Let’s see if I can drink my first gallon and go from there….lol

  1. I drink that tea too! I love the smell

Soda was never a problem for me because I don’t like the way it feels on my teeth, so maybe if you concentrate on your teeth, it will become less appealing?

One thing I’ve started doing is drinking a full glass of water every time I’m waiting for something in the kitchen… Cause the water is right there, and it makes waiting less boring. If I don’t forget, I’ll let you know how that plan works out for me

    1. That’s a good idea! I have started to drink water every time I get a craving for a soda…because I think it’s just me being thirsty. Once I’m finally home it helps too because there is no soda in my house. Out of sight, out of mind! 🙂

      1. If it’s just a matter of being thirsty, you might also sublimate with bubbly water, or bubbly flavored water, or bubbly water with juice, or–and this is my favorite, though I never buy it because it seems like a waste on money–mint water!

  2. Believe it or not, you’ll soon crave water. Like we teach our bodies to crave chips or chocolate during situations/emotions, your body will crave water. Go for it! (I like this post 🙂
