#WhitWritesHerNovel: Farewell to the First Edit

So, between the busy work schedule and the overall hiatus in general, I have been going full speed on completing the first edit of my novel. I am proud to say that I am almost finished! *breaks out into crazy dance* LOL

I had charted scenes that I have completely re-written, taken complete scenes out altogether and added other twists to the story that I have been anxious to tell people about. I have been editing for MONTHS, but it actually feels like an eternity. Finally, I am coming to the end of the journey, and I am excited to have a hard copy in my hands.  Once I print this, I am moving on to the next step in my process.

The next thing I want to do is recruit readers.  This is the part I am most nervous about, because I don’t want them to hate my work.  Truth be told, I wouldn’t care if they did or didn’t like it.  I just need feedback.  I have many people who are very supportive of me, and who love to read and will give me honest feedback (which is what I love about my network of  friends and family), so I am happy for that.

After I get feedback from the critics, I will take another stab at a second edit, and then do a final read.  As I type this post, I realize I am getting closer and closer to the end, and I am hyped!!!! Lol.

If you want to get a taste of what is in store for the book, check out my intro here!
